No, the cd that came with your computer cannot be used on any other computer, other then the one it came with, as it is an oem cd.

You need it’s own vista cd, with it’s own keycode, as each computer recieves its own. One other thing you need to be aware of not all laptops or computers, are Vista capible, if you install it on a computer, that can’t handle it, you’ll run into a whole lot of problems. If I were you I’d keep it off the laptop. Vista still has a lot of bugs that need to be worked out and it hasn’t sold very well. Everyone I know that is able have all switched back to XP, as they were all disapointed with Vista.

just go to BIOS setup and click DVD rom as first boot and follow the VISTA installation setup. its all over or install the VISTA in other drive and make ur laptop as dual boot XP ot VISTA, when u install VISTA, XP driver will be deleted becoz XP driver does not VISTA, backup all the files before installing VISTA

You can use the same disk if you want to…ORRRRR, upgrade your PC BACK to windows XP with service pack3. I’ve read a few posts to where Vista is going to be short lived anyway. You can activate windows up to three times with your key…..any more and you need to call microsoft….done it many many times.

you migh lose data, the disk should work if it doesnt say “only use with new PC yada yada yada” then you’ll have to format the laptop…

but i SERIOUSLY reccomend keeping XP on your laptop, vista is WWWAAAAAYYYY to unreliable in my opinion. if i was you i’d downgrade my pc to windows xp, even windows 2000.
